Mt. Itasca added tubing in 2011 with a course designed by Itasca Community College engineering students. It has quickly become the most popular family activity at Mt. Itasca.

The program runs from 4-6 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays in January. Coaches will receive complementary rentals (if needed) and lift tickets for the program and 2 lift tickets to use anytime the rest of the season. Tubing is essentially sledding, but in an oversized inner tube. And in an effort to cater to a wider variety of people who want to enjoy the hill at Mt. Itasca, but who haven't developed the Itasca State Park is a state park of Minnesota, United States, and contains the headwaters of the Mississippi River.
